Gratitude jar

This year’s challenge is to write down, every week, something that I am grateful for, pop it into a gratitude jar and review each note at the end of the year. I am looking forward to this challenge for a number of reasons, the main one being the following.

At our new year’s eve dinner each guest was asked the question ‘what was the best thing that happened to you this year?’. I froze. I could think of nothing good that had happened, in fact I could barely remember anything that had happened. Last year, the world as a whole seemed to bumble from catastrophe to catastrophe and I had let it all taint my experiences. I scrabbled around in the depths of my memory and when my turn came I mumbled unconvincingly about something that I had done.

This episode has stuck with me and this year I am determined to make a note of the good things that happen, for happen they do. This year I will be grateful for all that I have and all that I am.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
